Last night, my eight-year-old daughter, Aimee made up a
schedule for me to help me get stuff done today. She obviously doesn’t want
another day of mama in a grumpy funk.
Aimee’s schedule for
my day:
- Wake up
- Coffee/breakfast/shower
- Write blog
- Yoga
- Clean the house and mop the floor
- Lunch
- (I am going to have to go to the supermarket, but she didn’t put that on the list)
- Sew kindle cases
Now Aimee is the kind of kid who always wants everybody to
be happy. She is a little bundle of crazy, happy, awesomeness. The best part of
the list is that she thinks “clean the house and mop the floor” will make me
happy. I love that she thinks it will be done by lunch. I am always saying how I wish the house was cleaner, but I am definitely
someone who likes the end result more than the process. I hate to clean. If we
had more disposable income, the first thing I would do is hire a cleaning
service. I feel like I do a lot of cleaning, but with three kids, a dog, and a
cat, my house is a disaster all the time. So today, I will follow Aimee’s plan
and see how it goes. She loves to clean so I know I will have help. That’s all
for today — I have a schedule to keep!
